Running: Corregidor Marathon 2013 (Philippines) - UPDATED

Corregidor Marathon 2013

Date: 7 December 2013, Saturday (New Date: 11 January 2013)
Venue: Corregidor Island, Philippines

Corregidor Marathon will take place on the island of Corregidor on December 7, 2013. Only 88 slots will be open for participation, with a set qualifying time. Aside from the full marathon distance, there are two sub-events to take place on the same date - the 5K Blitz and 3K Thrill. Each of these distances shall have 150 slots.

Corregidor Marathon will see its inaugural edition on December 7, 2013 on the island of Corregidor. With Corregidor International Half-Marathon (CIHM) as its forerunner, which is now on its fourth year, Corregidor Marathon will usher in a new level of challenge in the running scene. As the half-marathon course of Corregidor could be top-viewed as forming an “8” loop, running the full marathon distance entails a double “8”.

About Corregidor Island
Corregidor Island, locally called Isla ng Corregidor, is a lofty island located at the entrance of Manila Bay in southwestern part of Luzon Island in the Philippines. Due to this location, Corregidor was fortified with several coastal artillery and ammunition magazines to defend the entrance of Manila Bay and the City of Manila from attacks by enemy warships in the event of war.

Guess I will be experiencing Philippines history during the run. Too bad, I can only take pictures with my iPhone5. Can't be bringing my DSLR kit in a running event.

Movies: Nuffnang Premiere Screening "We're The Millers"

Benefit of Blogging
I received an invitation for a movie premiere screening of We're The Millers tonight. What I did was just by sharing the promo poster by Nuffnang Facebook page on my own wall. Thank you Nuffnang MY.

So before going for a movie review tonight, sharing the movie trailer to set my expectation later tonight.

Below some information on the movie:

Title: We're The Millers

Summary: A veteran pot dealer creates a fake family as part of his plan to move a huge shipment of weed into the U.S. from Mexico.

Director: Rawson Marshall Thurber
Stars: Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts | See full cast and crew

To be honest, I am going for this movie because of Jennifer Aniston. It's been a while since I see her in the movie screen.

How much stars will it get for review? Let me go for its screening first.

Screening was done at TGV One Utama, Damansara at 9.30pm. Went with my movie partner Norzi for this round of review.

Story Plot: Good story flow which will keep your attention to movie screen.

Value for Money: This movie is a worth watching in the cinema. However, movie is not suitable for young children.

What to expect? A lot of adult content humor and tons of kissing scene.

Will I see it again? No, but maybe on DVD.

My rating: 3.5/5 stars

Enjoy the movie people!

Apart from all the excitement, this run has a noble side to it as all profits from the run will be donated to charity.

Count Me In!

I will be running in this event for my first time. Been waiting for the registration to open till today. Heard about this event last year, however last year's official t-shirt design was not up to my expectation. This year, the t-shirt design is more eye-catching. Not sure yet if the material will come from their sponsor 'Brooks'. Will only know once I have collected the race pack.

The Top 10 Regrets in Life

1. “Never pursuing dreams and aspirations”
The number one regret we found that people have on their death beds is that they were never brave enough to pursue their dreams, but settled for what others expected of them. When they look back at their lives, they tend to recall their unreached goals and aspirations. They are often haunted by decisions that resulted in the lives they ended up with.

While you still have a lot of years to live, be sure to make some time for reaching your dreams. Start working toward your goals now; don’t keep putting things off until it’s too late.

2. “I worked too much and never made time for my family”
Excessive dedication to work causes a person to spend less time with their loved ones. Parents can even miss out on the lives of their children, because they spent their best years pursuing careers and making money.

Everybody needs to work to generate income, and money is necessary to sustain our lifestyles. But don’t ever sacrifice your family time just to make more money. It would do you good to determine what is really important. Do away with unnecessary expenses and things that only crowd your life – this will make room for improved relationships and better lifestyle choices.

3. “I should have made more time for my friends”
When health and youth have faded, people realize what are truly valuable – they find that all their income and achievements amount to nothing in the end. What really matters in those last few moments are the people who are dear to them. At that time, they tend to miss their friends.

It’s so easy to get lost in the daily grind that you forget to take care of your relationships. If you don’t intentionally stay in touch, you may lose contact with your friends through the years.

4. “I should have said ‘I Love You’ a lot more”
The importance of love becomes more pronounced towards the end of life. At this time, unreturned of love will also be more painful.

It can be hard to tell someone that you love them, especially if you fear rejection. But not being able to express those feelings will leave an unsettled need in you, and possibly affect all future relationships. If you are afraid of getting hurt, remember that it’s better to make your love known than to spend the rest of your life dwelling on what could have been.
