Unboxing: Oakley Crosslink Ear Sock (Replica)

Oakley Crosslink Ear Sock Replacement

After reading comments from Oakley Crosslink users in Malaysia, I noticed that to purchase the ear sock replacement for Oakley Crosslink is an issue. In Kuala Lumpur, you may need to walk and place your order at most Oakley authorised dealer shops and wait for few days or weeks depending on the stock availability which is very troublesome.

I decided to get a replica version of the earsock instead after few months of searching.

Do read my review of this set of glasses from my earlier post.

User have high-interest to get their hands on these ear sock. Some of them may need it to replace the current original ear sock due to tear after a few months. And some for more colour variation.

Oakley Crosslink Ear Sock Replica
The quality of the rubber ear socks is very similar with the original unit. Even the Oakley and Crosslink deboss and emboss print are the same. On my last trip to Oakley stores in Bangkok, Thailand, I had the opportunity to check the pricing of the original unit as at THB380.

Categories      : 10K Open, 10K Closed, 5K Closed, 5K Team Closed
Date / Time    : 11 May 2014, 06:00 WIB

Signed up for another race on May 2014 in Jakarta, a week after Borneo International Marathon 2014 (BIM) in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Pocari Sweat Run Indonesia 2014 is a similar version of Pocari Sweat Run Singapore last year. However this year, the running-tee will be different as Indonesia version will be using Adidas for its running-tee as one of the entitlements.

No running route shared yet, but the race venue will be held at Tangerang city, 15 - 25 minutes away from Jakarta central area. Received advised from a Malaysian friend there that the venue is more than 30 minutes to reach. Best deal is to travel with the shuttle service facility the organisor had provided. However, I have yet to decide for my travel accommodation in Jakarta.

Looking forward to meet new friends during the event day. Been following Indo Runners for running updates in Indonesia since my last run there.

Stay tuned for my running review soon!

Pharrell Williams, Eric Prydz, Brodinski, Porter Robinson, Knife Party, Baauer and were due to perform on day three of the festival due to last minute cancellation from the organisors after six people died of a drug overdose on the second day of the event (ASOT650MY).

An official statement has been released via the event official Facebook page, "In the interest of public safety, we have heeded the authority’s advice to not proceed with Day-3 of Future Music Festival Asia 2014.

"This is also to help in the on-going investigation. We appreciate the understanding of all parties and will share updates on this matter as soon as possible”.

However I did enjoyed the first and second day of the music festival as a media.

Concert venue was OK since it is near to the city with lot of public transport facilities to choose from. Parking area was ample but with RM20 - RM30 parking fee per entry. Participants were given a cloth bracelet with a RFID feature for entry and F&B payment at the festival area.

Check out some photos from my iPhone5 and D7000 with 70 - 200mm Nikkor lense for Day 1 and Day 2.

My Stay
Made my booking at the Shophouse The Social Hostel, Singapore thru redirected to for a 1 night stay in Singapore. provides the best comparison of price from popular hotel booking platform.

This trip was to run in 2XU Compression Run 2014 Singapore which held at Republic Avenue, very close by to Nicoll Highway. The hostel was located less than 1KM away from the race venue.

Reached and checked-in at the hostel around 9pm  after 4 - 5 hours journey from Kuala Lumpur. Check-in was fast by nice and friendly hostel employee. A refundable deposit of SGD$10 was required for key-card upon checking-in. Key-card works for the room and its main-door. Before leaving the counter, a clear hostel rules and available facilities were explained by the employee.

I was staying in a 16 bed mixed dorm. Making friends was not a problem since I am used with hostel / dorm ethics. Luckily for me, my dorm-mates were all running in the same race event.

Getting food and public transport from this hostel are very convenient. Tons of 'halal' restaurants and close to shopping area.

Important note: Check-in counter is located inside the a cafe. Keep an eye for the hostel signage outside the shop building. You can refer the below image.
