Running: I Am 31 & Fueled With Positive Energy at #MBD Run 2014 (Putrajaya)

Celebrating my 31st Birth Day Run on 20 April 2014

It's my 31st birthday and gave myself a present by completing a 7km morning run at Milo Malaysia Breakfast Day Run 2014 held in Putrajaya. Mentioned about this run in my earlier post:

The turn up was amazing as more than 20,000 people have come to celebrate the Malaysia Breakfast Day 2014.

Running Day
Left the house at 0640 hours as the flag off time for runners was changed to 7.30 am instead of 7.00 am. Had to park a few hundreds metres away from the event venue due to 'not-so-for-20K-people' parking space. Head towards the starting line for a quick warm-up.

As this is a family run event, I have no target for a Personal Best (PB). Took my sweet time to complete the 7 km route. During the entire run, I could see participants were having a fun time running with friends and family. Also to be seen were LYN Runners and RFF runners.

Medical team was available at most of the checkpoints and turns. Even though this is 7 km distance run, there were 3 water stations along the running route. These water stations provides mineral water for runners dehydration. Mobile toilet was well positioned after the water station area too.

Bumped with my x-colleague, Lai Sook Yee at the third water station. It's been 6 years since I saw her while we were based in Media Prima.

Completed my 7 km 'birthday run' at 51 minutes. Not my PB but think I could do better with proper training. I hit my Nike Fuel band goal at 2408 fuel and unlocked the Extra Frosting badge on Nike+.

Travel: Usman Thai Muslim Restaurant, Bangkok (Thailand)

Usman Thai Muslim Restaurant, Sukhumvit Soi 22, Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok

Travelling to Thailand is exciting especially for its cuisine. For Muslim travellers who are looking for a certified 'HALAL' cuisine, you may want to visit Usman Thai Muslim Restaurant whenever you are in Bangkok, Thailand.

Located at Sukhumvit Soi 22, Sukhumvit Road, Usman Thai Muslim Restaurant serves you most of the Thai cuisines from fried rice, spicy tom yam, kerabu mangga and many more.

I had the chance to try-out the food there during my bangkok city exploration with Zulaina in the area.

How To Get There
You best bet is to use the BTS SkyTrain service to E5 Phrom Phong station. Travel will cost you up to THB40, depends from which station you are taking. Upon arrival at Phrom Phong station, you will need to walk for 15 minutes at about 1KM distance.

Heard that there is a short cut thru a park towards the place though. But we preferred to use the Google map road instruction instead.

Just walk towards Imperial Queen's Park Hotel as a landmark. You cannot miss the large signboard of the hotel since it is a large building with litted signage at night.

Below some of visuals you should be seeing along the way.

Travel: The 35th Bangkok International Motor Show 2014 (Thailand)

A week before Thailand's Songkran festival, I managed to do a half-day photography session at Bangkok International Motorshow 2014. The session was exciting as I was able to gather with other photographer friends from Malaysia and Singapore called Demand-For-More (D4M).

Why Bangkok Motorshow?
Lot of nice cars exhibited, cheap daily entry ticket and beautiful model talents.

Travelling there
The Bangkok International Motorshow is annualy held at Impact Challenger estimated around 30 minutes away from Bangkok city centre. Traveling time could be more than expected due to bad heavy traffic. You could use the BTS SkyTrain to the last station Mo Chit and get a taxi from there towards Impact Challenger.

Please note that they may have taxi drivers that will not go there if it is during peak hours.

100 Bath Ticket
The daily entry ticket cost only THB100 (MYR10) which I find very cheap but with excellent automotive exhibitors. You may find various car and bike model there since Thailand is known-well for its automotive industry. Going in and out after entry on the same day is no problem too. The organisor will stamp your hand for re-entry.

Travel: Bangkok - Kuala Lumpur with Malindo Air (Operated By Thai Lion Air)

Good news to Bangkok travellers!

Malindo Air (Indonesia) is now offering their flight services from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur. This direct-flight however is operated by Thai Lion Air with Lion Air's Boeing 737-900 ER. Which means, bigger leg room and new seats. Even though the aircraft is similar with the ones from Kuala Lumpur - Kota Kinabalu, there is no in-flight entertainment for passengers - no touch screens lcd at seat.

"Indonesia’s Lion Air Group is aiming to launch a new affiliate in Thailand by the end of 2013 with an initial fleet of two 737-900ERs based at Bangkok Don Mueang Airport. The new carrier, Thai Lion, will follow the low-cost model and, unlike Lion’s Malaysian subsidiary Malindo, provide an all-economy no-frill service."

If you are traveling from Bangkok, the flight departs from Don Mueng International Airport together with other low cost airlines like Air Asia and Nok Air. Check-in counter is located at aisle 8. You may need to  arrive early at the airport since check-in is still manually done.

The US Soccer Federation released the Nike design and it has a white polo collar. The collar and the sleeves have red trim, and the shorts and socks also are white The uniform will be used by the men's and women's teams.

"The new kit clearly showcases the USA's national pride and distinct sense of style, while also capturing the nation's eternal optimism," said Martin Lotti, Creative Director for Nike Soccer.

"It's always an honor to wear the colors of your country, and this summer we will be hard to miss in an all-white look," said United States men's national team captain Clint Dempsey. "We will be traveling all over Brazil and playing in a lot of different conditions, so the innovative Nike designs will serve us well."

Information from The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Been reading a lot of negative comments about the design of this particular jersey from fans.I kind of agree with most comments given. But this doesn't stop me from buying one from the Nike store. I have been waiting to own one since forever in Malaysia. Luckily this year, Nike Malaysia did market this jersey in the country for the upcoming world cup in June 2014.

The jersey is a plain white polo with thin stripes like a golf shirt. No comments on its material quality since it's a Nike Dri-Fit. The jersey has the US crest and Nike logo embroidery.
