Running: RHB Half Marathon 2015 (Kuala Lumpur)

On 8 February 2015, I completed a run in the 10K category at RHB Half Marathon 2015 held at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. Registered myself at RM40 together with my office-mates Kirubaleni and Hadi. Registration fee was cheap if to compare to other local races nowadays at RM50 - RM70 for a 10K distance.

My race pack was collected by friends since I was not around at that time.

Running Day
Parking was ample at the event venue but at a first-come-first-serve basis. I had to parked about 300 metres away from the start area 15 minutes before the 10K category flag off at 6.30am. There was no baggage deposit facility at this race event, hence didn't brought the official blue colour event tee for photo-op later.

Started the race with Kirubaleni at the back of the race group along with Marie and friend.

To add, this was my first time running in this area. The route had a lil bit of climb elevation, but not much as Padang Merbok which was fine. It took me a while to find my pace tune after zig-zaging the slow runners at the first KM.

Water stations were well placed with 100 Plus isotonic drink supplies, manned by event volunteers.

During my run, I saw a large group of LYN Runners in their new pink and black race tee. Such a nice tee design they have there. Saw As Bha Zammi at the other side of the road with his "Run For A Hero" race tee at KM8. We did discussed about having a reunion race for the Condura team earlier. Also, bumped onto Elise at KM9 who was running in the 21KM category.

I crossed the finish line at 1:08 hours (Gun Time) and successfully achieved my 10K PB on nett time according to Nike+ app. A string bag consisted of finisher medal, F&B coupons, banana and some other stuff was given at the finishing line.

Regrouped with the MY365Runners like Kakai, Zhaf, Elise, Nieza, Tini, Khairul at the event area for photo-op while waiting for other running friends to finish. Met great people and friends while I was strolling in the area.

Running: I Ran For A Hero at Condura Skyway Marathon 2015 (Philippines) #CSM2015

Registered for my second official race in the Philippines last year October 2014 to run at Condura Skyway Marathon 2015 held on 1 February 2015 at Alabang Skyway, Filinvest, Philippines.

I was motivated to signed-up as the race event was organised by one of the best marathon organisor in Philippines, Run Rio Inc, the same organisor from my last Philippines race which was Milo Marathon 2013. Opted for the HM category as there was a finisher tee and medal upon completion.

Counting days to race day, got to know few other running friends who had signed up for the same race like Mohd Azmi GME (KL) and Deffna (Sabah).

Have to give Nike We Run KL 2015 a pass this year since it was scheduled to happen on the same day at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.

About Run For A Hero
We are proud to support and partner with the Help Educate and Rear Orphans (HERO) Foundation to give you the Condura Skyway Marathon: Run for a HERO 2015.

Day in and day out, our soldiers heroically put their lives on the line to keep us secure, at times, risking their own family’s future. When they are Killed in Action (KIA) or become incapacitated in the line of duty, their families suffer the loss of both a loved one and family bread-winner.

Since 1988, HERO Foundation has been sending the children of our fallen soldiers to school. Now, it’s our turn to help.

Race Pack Collection
Flew with AirAsia few days earlier from Kuala Lumpur to backpack and explore few fascinating districts in the Philippines towards RPEC day.

The RPEC was held at the official event hotel, Crimson Hotel, Alabang very close to the event venue. Had the opportunity to meet a friendly new-found-running-friend, Michael Chin from Brunei which will be running in the FM category there. Our race pack was given in a brown envelop consisted of BIB, timing chip and an Asics running tee.

Running: 100Plus Outrunner 2015 (Putrajaya)

This 2015, 100Plus came as a title sponsor to a running event held at Putrajaya on 24 January 2015 named 100Plus Outrunner. It's unfortunate that I didn't managed to register as slots were taken-up in a few days upon open registration. Well, a good sign that more people are into running nowadays.

Lucky for me, I got a buzz by a runner friend, Marie with an extra BIB for 9KM category. Thanks Ann! Collected the race kit from her few days before race day which consisted of a blue race tee and BIB.

Running Day
Reached Putrajaya 20 minutes before the 9KM flag-off time with my run-partner the Turtlena who was running for the 12KM category. The race event got more exciting as I met the usual running friends there such as Azmi GME, Kakai, Niza, Marie and others.

Dropped my baggage at the baggage deposit tent located at the end of the event area, which was really strategic. A numbered was given for my baggage collection after the race by the volunteers there.

Started my run with Azmi GME who was adding KM to his LSD earlier. A lovely firework show was added during the race flag-off. Ran at a basic pace towards the 1st water station.

Water stations were available from KM3 with tons supplies of 100Plus. Thanks to the isotonic water, I managed to reduce the pain from my wisdom tooth which happen earlier in the morning. The tooth-pain did affect my running pattern. Mobile toilets were sufficient along the race route with marshals and volunteers cheering to support.

Merged with the 6KM runners at KM6
Crossed the finishing line at 1:10 hours where a goodie bag consisted of finisher medal, a snack pack and mineral water was given. Thought there was a 100Plus bottle drink. Not a good timing for 9KM but I was glad managed to complete the race anyway.
